How can cultural industries take advantage of blockchain?
This technology, which allows information to be stored and exchanged in a decentralized manner, without going through a trusted third party, could have a structural impact on many sectors. Creative industries, whose economic models have been disrupted by new modes of consumption and which are characterized by a certain opacity in their value chain, could find in blockchain a solution to many problems.
This edition of CORE talks aims to explore these issues and measure the potential of this technology in the art market as well as in the cultural and creative industries.

Call for applications for projects promoting contemporary craftsmanship of excellency

In preparation of a nationwide exhibition dedicated to the Tunisian handicrafts, the Rambourg Foundation launches a call for applications to offer a space in the exhibition to initiatives that have emerged in this sector. It is intended for designers, craftsmen, artists, associations, independent publishers who have invested in projects promoting a contemporary craft of excellence.

Required documents
- Photo(s) of the Object
- An explanatory document and a concept emphasizing innovation
- A document detailing the manufacturing process and materials used.
Selection Qualifications
- The creation must reflect the spirit of the definition of the craft object that was developed by an assembly of experts in 2019.
- The creation must be innovative.
- The concerned sectors are : ceramics, glass, esparto work, brassware, mosaic, costume and accessories, weaving and jewelry.
Any incomplete application will not be considered by the jury.
The curatorial committee of the exhibition will meet on June 2021 to select the finalist projects that will be auditioned by the jury. An update will be sent to you following the deliberations.

As part of its support program for the Tunisian handicrafts and crafts industry, more specifically the project "Artistic Residency Workshops between international designers/creators and Tunisian craftsmen", the Rambourg Foundation is hosting meetings to exchange ideas on crafts and the sharing of know-how and experience :
Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rambourg Foundation headquarters at 26, Rue du 1er Juin 1955, Mutuelle ville.

Speakers:
- Jocelyne Imbert: Director of the project "Artistic Residency Workshops between international designers/creators and Tunisian craftsmen".
- Antonin Simon Giraudet : Artist, performer and designer. His practice consists in embodying typological characters in sculptural silhouettes, supernatural effigies of the music stage.
- Mohamed Lidarsa: Master of pottery of excellence disciple of Othman ben Salah installed in the Medina of Tunis. He was selected in 2008 by Leila Menchari for the Hermés exhibition. He has exported his products to Australia, Europe and the Middle East. He was also part of an exhibition at the Maisons et Objets salon.
- Abderrazak Belgacem: Born into a family of mosaicists from father to son (the father participated in the restoration of works exhibited at the Bardo Museum). The mosaic craftsman of excellence has developed an exceptional know-how and carries out reproductions of Roman works as well as his own artistic creations.
- Salah Barka: Tunisian model and stylist. In love with history, art and traditional clothing style, Salah Barka has been able to move towards a unique style of creation and to incorporate the Tunisian, Berber, Phoenician and African civilization in his line. It is also inspired by nature and its different colors for the choice of fabric and materials to make contemporary clothing, ethnic and unique.
- Fatma ben Abdallah: Tunisian stylist of international recognition. She has won many international awards such as the trophy "International Fashion Show" (2003), the UNESCO Crafts Prize for the Arab countries (2000) and the trophy of women world business leaders Paris (1999). Mrs. Ben Abdellah has also participated in many fashion shows in her country in Tunisia. She has represented her country in many major fashion capitals such as Beijing, Beirut, Washington, Rome, Marrakech, Montreal, Paris …
- Sarah Jomaa: Originally from "Ksour Essaf" near Mahdia, Sara Jomaa has bathed from her earliest childhood in the land of jewelers so famous in this region of Tunisia. This certainly led her to study at the School of Fine Arts in Tunis. She benefited from the support and advice of the greatest filigree masters of the Medina of Tunis, who transmitted the secrets and the know-how of their art to her.
- Tarek Kammoun: Tarak Kamoun is a glass blower and master glassmaker of excellence, he goes back in time and is inspired by the history of glass in Tunisia: the pieces of blown glass from the eighteenth century fascinate him. He resumes the technique of the glass blown inside wrought iron, experiments the tensions created, pushes the material and sees it evolve over the years.
- Ahmed Soussi: Ahmed Soussi is a potter of excellence from father to son established in Nabeul in a small family workshop. Son of Hedi Soussi Master craftsman and former trainer in the workshops of ONAT. He exports to markets in Europe.

The Rambourg Foundation Tunisia organizes a day open to the general public around meetings and discussions, on February 29 th. They will be an opportunity to discover the different artistic practices, the creative approaches and the journey of three renowned artists, each working in different specialties.
These three exchanges are part of a broader reflection, it is about questioning and crossing the experiences, approaches and points of view of these artist researchers.

Speaker: Giuseppe Caccavale
Giuseppe Caccavale is an Italian painter specializing in mural art (frescoes). His works are mainly inspired by the Italian Renaissance and are notably made from natural elements: Wood, glass, hollowed wood ... Although his career is dotted with the many works he has done, his artistic approach nevertheless tends towards elements and more precisely, their essence. The design of his works is not guided by linearity, but rather focuses on the natural process of creation.

Speaker: Antonin Simon Giraudet
Artist, Performer and Designer, Antonin SIMON GIRAUDET alias Octo / Arcane tells a universe carrying turbulent symbolism to erect body-icons in which weave the codes of the strange and modern mythologies. His practice consists in embodying typological characters in sculptural silhouettes, supernatural effigies of the musical scene and the Game. It is through them that the performative character of the garment is defended in his work. Lyricism, absurd and surrealism coexist in his clothing proposals with artifacts drawn from industrial imagery, thereby achieving a chimerical desire to open a breach for the "Creatures" in everyday normativity. He thus developed a very particular affection for the textile built in the form, and the ennobling of the materials as the basis of creation of the garment. The work of the hand on the textile becomes in its achievements a logic of construction.

The prize
Actors from several artistic disciplines and some cultural sectors in Tunisia have a constant need for endowments in order to carry out projects that are part of a scaled down economy. The field of Contemporary Art is dramatically expanding in Tunisia which is why it now requires real structuring.To meet this need, the Rambourg Foundation has decided to refocus the Prize on emerging artists of Contemporary Art in Tunisia. This Prize will therefore make it possible to provide a regular event related to this sector and will undoubtedly offer visibility to the artists.
Candidates eligibility conditions
In order for their projects to be taken into account, applicants must comply with the following conditions:
- The Prize is open to candidates regardless of their nationality and their location, as long as their work is related to the Tunisian art scene. (which must be highlighted in the application file)
- The project must be carried out in Tunisia.
- The laureats from previous editions can participate in the Prize, but with a different proposition from that presented in the previous edition. The project must be creative and innovative.
Actions eligibility conditions
In order for their projects to be taken into account, applicants must comply with the following conditions:
- The Prize is open to candidates regardless of their nationality and their location, as long as their work is related to the Tunisian art scene. (which must be highlighted in the application file)
- The project must be carried out in Tunisia.
- The project must be creative and innovative
Application form
The candidate will have to provide certain personal information in the website.
The candidate must deposit in the website a written document in which he will explain his background, his past projects as well as the obstacles he may have encountered in the development of these. He will have to explain how these elements led him to start the submitted project.
The candidate must deposit in the website a written document specifying the project he wishes to submit
as part of the Prize. He can eventually explain the relation between his project and contemporary art
and / or the Tunisian art scene, if necessary. This document must also present possible partnerships as well as the impact and cultural mediation actions contemplated.
The candidate must present five personal projects or projects in which the candidate has directly participated, through a portfolio or videos for instance, if the project area requires it. These projects must show what the candidate has been able to achieve in the past, regardless of the different artistic fields.
Further details and informations will be put in place to help candidates complete their application and precisely define the Prize’s expectations and requirements. Assistance will be put in place, via email and telephone, and information meetings will be held in four different locations in Tunisia (in order to cover as best as possible the whole territory) in order to directly respond to the interrogations of the candidates.
The project can be presented in French, Arabic and English. Communication surrounding the Prize
will be in French and Arabic.
